newest love!
Imagine my suprise when hubby brought this beauty to me! I love it so much! A friend of mine is downsizing her collection. My husband was at her home putting in her new hardwood floors and saw this. Now it is mine! I think I am done collecting for now. Unless, the perfect Hoosier or armoir becomes available that is!
Wonderful weekend!
Good morning!
I spent a wonderful weekend with my church sisters at the "women of faith" conferance in Portland. I always enjoy the speakers and all there wisdom they share with us. I also so enjoyed Andy Andrews! WOW! I could have listened to him all day. Its so amazing to hear about how God works in others lives. In huge ways and little ways. I've been made more concious of looking for how God works in the little things. I have always known He does, but I am going to try to be mor thankful for those little ways, not always looking for the big things.
A couple of weekends ago my daughters and my best friend and her daughter all went to Portand for a "girls day out at the malls" for my daughter Mikailas birthday. Amy and Valerie and I went into an antique mall for a bit. the younger girls didnt want to go in, so we tried to make it fairly quik in there. I want to go back and spend some more time in there!! Can"t wait to go back.
Here are some pictures of Monticello Antique mall!

finally!
Finally is the word! Finally finished my vanity. Or I should say Mark did. He kind of takes over my projects and I really need to say something about that. Anyway, I went to the Coburg antique fair this last weekend and it was so much better than the packwood flea market and I only had to drive 20 miles!! While traipsing around i found a roll of awesome wall paper and it was "BOOM" this is it!
The finishing touch on my vanity.
I bought the roll and cut out the size i needed. I was the perfect fit length wise so I knew this was the right stuff. I then painted the wall paper a bronze color. Mark made little frames and I glues the wallpaper on the frames and we popped them in the holes where the drawers should be! I am so excited and can hardly stop looking at it! I love it.
I almost have my cupboards done so I can move on to other projects. I have the newly purchased antique dresser and night stand to do. I am pretty excited. I've been reading several blogs learning how to do all this. Miss Mustard seed is one of them. Love her blog! My Desert Cottage and Miss Gracies are also a couple of my favorites. Of course, I cannot forget Colby Cottage right here out of Springfield. Love her shop! and her blog.
I was in an antique shop in Coburg and couldnt drag myself away from one section that I absalutally loved and low and behold it was a Colby Cottage booth. I could just live in there all day.
Well, i better get bookin on getting ready to go camping! Going to Coos Bay Boy Scout camping and crabbing and to see my brother. Pretty sure there are some antique stores there too!!

flea market
Took me this long to post about the flea market we went to because i was so disappointed in it. We drove all the way to packwood, washington for this flea market and it has become so commercialized!
lots of sunglasses, blankets, hats, leather stuff. There were some good antique booths, but far and few.
We did pick up a few sets of salt and pepper shakers and some enamel ware. The most fun we had i believe was garage-sale-ing our way there. I picked up a beautiful vintage dresser for $35 and a small nighstand (which fell apart) for $7. The nightstand is now being glued back togethor with a stack of about 30 encyclopedias sitting on top of it. I plan on painting both of these items white. I have to finish my other projects first. I'm gonna make a few more of my bags with some differant material and see if i can sell them at some craft shows.
My friend Amy and I are going to drive to Portland on saturday for the Monticello Antique malls fall opening. Then on sunday we are going to the Coburg antique fair. So it will be a busy weekend!

heres the pics!
fun finds!
Last night I was kinda bored with the usual stuff i'd been doing. Had seen the cutest bag on a favorite blog and decided to create my own. This morning while looking for a button or something to use for a hook and loop I found these bags of wonderful things i had forgotten i had. None of them really worked as all the earings are clip on and sewing or gluing isnt gonna work. It was so much fun going thru this! Even my 22 yr old son came in and played with them for awhile. Course, all he could think of was trying to sell some and make money! My husband and I found these yrs ago in an old barn sale. He dug the bags out and said "oh i know you want this". needless, to say we came home with about $500 worth of stuff for about $13. Now, i have to figure out what to do with them.
Also, decided to post my almost finished old buffet/vanity transformation. I love it! Just need to finish the drawer peices. Gonna do some punched copper or tin there. I bought some stuff to do that then thought, what if i find something at the packwood flea market or the coburg flea market. So I am going to wait a few more weeks to finish it. Cannot wait to go to packwood washington this weekend! I will take lots of pics.

finding me
I layed awake thinking last night. "who am i really?" One, I know I am Gods creation. But, as Gods creation who am i supposed to be? Number one a christian. I think of my self as a servant of Christ. I am a mother and a wife. I am a gardener, a crafter, a homemaker. I just still feel like i'm not doing enough serving. Doing a bible study right now, that I have done before called " No other gods".
We did this as a group at church a few years ago. Now, I am doing it by myself and still getting something from it.
I've known for years I was way to deep into my gardening, but not willing to give it up. I seem to dive head first into whatever "hobby" I am interested in and leave everything else behind. My gardening became my god. Now, I am trying to be careful, so this whole vintage collecting/house redecorating doesnt become my god. I need to find a balance with it all.
I thought for sure God was telling me having a small nursery at my home was what i needed to be doing. Yes, I did okay with it but it really never went anywhere. Why, I don't know and I may never know. Oh well, as my boss says 400 times a day. I've decided to let the little nursery go and move on. I am at peace with that. I will definitly still garden but not with the" garden or die attitude." I had also made my dieting a god in my life. let it go!
I don't know where all this seriousness came from. I just am curious what my next steps will be. Where my God is leading me. How long do I have to wait to find out whats next. Or just roll with it and be patient and just enjoy the ride. Where can i serve? I work with the high school girls at church and i'm on the building and grounds committee and i help with VBS, but something is still missing. Like this is not enough. Maybe our disaster team will be called to North Carolina for relief work after hurricane Irene. well, i guess we will see.

Blogdicted!
Oh my goodness! i have found i am majorly addicted to looking at and reading other peoples blogs! I went to one vintage decor blog and i was sunk. That is all it took! I went to Katies Rose cottage and she has a list about a mile long of all her favorite blogs. I've been going thru them all one by one. The last was Miss Gracies, buy far my favorite. Made me want to really take my house apart and paint it all white and totally go for the french/prairie style, ala shabby chic.
Next week Mark and 2 of our kids are heading to his parents in washington to hit the packwood flea market. I love love love this place. Havent been in 3 or 4 years. To the flea market. we've been to his dads. although, its been about 8 months.
Gonna post some picks of a few of the things i've picked up this last month or so. I am still working on painting and antiquing my kitchen cupboards. Thats a lot of work, still havent finished the scrap room or my buffet/bathroom vanity. Having ADD is not a fun thing. I will get there I know I will!!

another painting day.
Wow, had this all written out and hit the wrong button and the whole post was gone! So irritating!
Any way, I had written that a week ago my son Dustin had moved out and i switched my scrapbooking room for his bedroom. I painted it blue moss, which to me, was a seafoam blue. I love it! trimmed it in antique muslin. I am definitly going for the shabby chic look. I have a white hanging light i want to switch out for the basic light thats in there. Old lace curtains add to the theme. I love it. not quite done with it as my ADD kicked in and i moved on to a couple other things.
Today, I started working on a project i started in March. I was painting my kitchen cupboards the antique muslin and was going to antique them. I got the lower half painted during spring break and there
it ended. My DH is working long hours this week, so decided this was a good time to do it. Although, I have beets and green beans to can and really should be doing that.
I did take down and paint 2 of the upper door and while they are drying I also painted a shabby chic cupboard my hubby built me out of an old window and old fence boards. I love it. Going to store my Cricut cartridges in it. Then i proceded to glaze 3 of the lower cupboards which are drying now, while i sit here and eat my lunch.
Quik blurb on my hcg status... I ate too much on sunday. up 4lbs overnight added to the 4 i had gained a few days before. So yesterday did a shake day correction and lost 2.4lbs. Doing an all protien day today.
I am going to post some pics of my latest projects. Hope you enjoy! These are the before and after pics of the scraproom. As i said i not quite done. And here is a pic of my daughters wedding day almost one year ago, but i just scrapped it the other day.

my hcg journey
well, I thought i would write a little about my hcg journey. First heard of Hcg back in December 2010. A few ladies from my church were doing it. So, i purchased some. I have been so pleased with the results. I did 2 rounds. should have only had to do one, but i had things to learn along the way. The little mistakes i made. I lost 25lbs using the hcg homoepathic drops. I have kept it off to this date. I struggle with the little gains from things like tortillas and brownies, but, am pleasantly suprised i don't gain from triple chocoholic blizzards! I am currently doing a correction day as i was 3 lbs up from the tortilla and something else, i can't remember. Lost 2lbs from yesterdays "shake day" correction. I had a bunch of strawberries for breakfast and then a protien shake made with 4 scoops mix, and a banana and raspberries. SO delicious, then at 6:30 had a plain strawberry one. the first one was definitly better. Today, I am doing a fat fast correction day. I've done this before losing 2.2 lbs. and another day 1.4 lbs. I've also done a high protien day with all meats. yummy! love that one. might do that tomorrow just to see if i can get below my ldw. (last day of hcg wieght).
Havent been trying to sell to many plants this year. Feel like God has something else planned for me. I have no clue what at this point. Praying every day for Him to reveal his plan for me. It's in his timing for me to know what to do. although, funny enough since i made that decision, people have been coming out and buying plants.
Instead of a lot of gardening i've been garage sale-ing and picking up things to sell on ebay. which i have never done before. Lots of salt and pepper shakers. Been also buying things for my home. just bought an awesome hutch and half a hoosier. need to find a base for it. also have an antique stove and sewing machine i would like to sell.
Did a little scrapbooking the other day. will have to post some pics of what i did, later, i need to get back outside for awhile and clean up my deadheading messes and play with my dog Bill.

almost a year!
Wow! For months now i have planned on keeping this blog going as a journal to myself. Havent even touched it and here it is Aug 1st of 2011. So i am going to try to keep this up.
Valerie and Robby have been married almost a year! How time flies. they are doing quite well.
Dustin is supposed to be leaving for the Marine corp in Sept. don't have a date yet. Mikaila starts high school in a month! I can't beleive my baby will be in high school. She will make sure and remind me shes not my baby. Hunter is working for Mark again, had worked for Bow tech which he likes but there were internal issues and he's kinda sorta looking for something else. Where that will leave Mark i don't know. thats no emloyees left.
I have been off work for a month now and loving it. I decided not to sell plants this year full time or part time really, I have sold some. Not trying to really. That kinda took over my life. So, i've been garage sale-ing and hitting estate sales. That is so much fun! Mark and I have got several new peices to my antique collection. I'm hoping to go to Brownsville, to do some antiquing this next weekend.
Been sorta ho hum gardening this year. Going out in a few minutes was waiting for my sunscreen to do its thing.
Havent been scrapbooking much although i want to!! i've got to many projects i want to do!
I want to hang sheet rock in my garden shed. clear out my greenhouse, paint and antique my kitchen cupboards. trade rooms with Dustin. turn his room into my scrapbooking room. and the list goes on!
Well, i'm gonna head out for a while.
